These People are the greatest most generous people i have met in ages. Not only do they treat you like family they help you when you are truely in need. I feel they really care and they show it by welcoming you by name everytime. Even in lapse of showing your face. Great people thats all i gotta say! ooohhh and that billy is whooo hooo!!!lol.

Hugs is a great place for lower cost medicine.
Some of us just can't afford the 'higher overhead' dispensaries, that mark up their prices accordingly.

If you have an attitude, you'll get attitude back.
I like that.
But, I also have a stiff upper lip.

All the bad reviews, are from people that come in expecting the world to be handed to them. You want 'high dollar' meds, go to a 'high dollar' dispensary.

If you want some down-to-earth people to deal with, in a mom & pop style environment.... go to Hugs.

PS: I've NEVER seen less than 10 strains there. So, I think the "only 3 strains" people are BS'ing, cuz they got put in their places...

There was only three kinds of pot that where all extremely bad dry and old. I asked if they had any purple the girl said "we're more into the green buds around here" as if I insulted her. The weed just blew and I would rather buy meds on the streets and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I get that some of you want some really sleek interior, or you want a bevy of beautiful people serving up buds. Heck, I even get that some of you want to have a dispensary that makes you feel like one of the cooler kids in town because you can get in the door.

However, if you appreciate good prices and dealings with some of the most down to earth people I've met through my doctor's rec, then Hugs is your place. A family of no-nonsense straight-talking folks opened up a very bare bones minimal dispensary. What they lose in ambiance they more than make up by being really salt of the earth types. If there were only one dispensary in town, I'd want it to be Hugs.

I was a complete newbie walking in. First time in any place like this. The staff at Hugs were very helpful, and gave me a lot of their time educating me about how things work in California, and Sacramento. Good people. I've already gone back again for more. The mint chocolate candy was dynamite and their Mendo Purps did the trick for me also.

Always friendly and ready to help, clean, good med's. Good people! Usually has clones, but at times in short supply, so call ahead for clones. They will talk to you on the phone, which some will not do.

I cannot possibly understand how some one has a problem with these guys. I have gotten to know the family and crew that runs it and visit multiple times a week. They are never anything but endearingly friendly, so to those of you who don't know what they are talking about, go back to L.A. . The folks that run hugs have reserved a special place in my heart, so I apologize to every other Sacramento-area club, because you ain't getting my business. Oh! And the medicine is second to none. Whether I need an indica for my back or a sativa for my worries, they always have an outstanding selection that is cared for and respected (not this pressed, dried out cabbage that I have got from other clubs in the past). Don't listen to the disgruntled people out there posting bad reviews. They obviously have a problem with themselves. If you truly want amazing people to help you acquire amazing medicine, HUGS is the place.

I moved to Sacramento about 2 months ago from the Bay Area. This is the 3rd club I've been to in the Sacramento area and I must say IT'S GREAT!!! The staff is very courteous to its customers even with a 5 person line it is a enjoyable experience. They are also very knowledgeable about the strains. They had about 10 different strains on the board and quite a few different ways to medicate. I'm giving this club a 5 star rating because I've been to 20+ clubs in the Bay Area / Norcal and it ranks in the top 3. Also I've read a few reviews about HUGS that were bad and I really don't understand how you could say this place is bad other then you're a moron. Anyhow see for yourself go to HUGS they rock!!!

Over the past two years I have visited a few dispensaries. I have visited one dispensary in the bay and two in Sacramento. I like Hugs the most. When I can afford high quality they got it. And when I’m on a budget, they help me out. As far as knowledge, I have received good advice & tips. Good people, safe location. Clyde is Great.

There is not another shop in Sacramento that is willing to help us, the people that truly need this program like hugs does. Everyday they deal with people trying to take their kindness for weakness, So pay no mind to the ones that are mad because they have crossed the line too many times. The Hugs family is second to none, they are a family that loves to help the people in this community and go above and beyond for those that are really sick. As for the quality of their product, their vendors rock! Some really good smoke has passed through there. Some of the best, if not the best I have smoked has come from there, and for someone that smokes a lot, that is saying something. Their prices are competitive. Their edibles hit the spot every time. I loved this place. Me and my friend were going to all the clubs in Sac and this one was great they gave us a gram joint for free because it was our first time and then the guy hooked me up with a orange hash chocolate that kicked my ass. They had great choices and they were very friendly. I will be back :)

I love going to this place...the people are kind. friendly, educated, and above all compassionate. They always have a kind smile for you and will converse with you on a number of topics, That you bring up. Never pushing their views or values on anyone. I have never had a problem with any purchase I have made there. As far as getting their kids high... never.. These people aren't breaking the law. They are allowing people that have a medical marijuana script to access their medication. Don't think they are going to risk the Feds knocking on their door just so they can get their kids high.I think the person that wrote that needs a psychological evaluation.It's very clear that someones anger isn't in check and maybe they need to smoke a big bowl. Maybe some of this excellent Snow Cap I just picked up today. If you have the chance to stop by I encourage you to. Keep up the good work hugs.

This shop is horrible. The employees are too stoned for customer service skills and are incredibly ignorant. They express their political views in their supposed "professional setting", and don't even know what the hell they're talking about. It's sad to know these people have children because I'm sure they're getting them high too. Someone needs to call child protective services on these people.

Marijuana is only legal medicinally for a reason. People like this are ruining it for us terminally ill patients. Not only are these people intellectually disabled and horrible business people, but their shop constantly reaks of tabacco smoke and their product is not good enough for the price. They rip you off!! My advice: Never give these people business.

This shop is run by good people who care who aren't just in it for the money. Never more than a good price (tax included) for great medicine, and they'll even haggle a little over price if you're in the mood. This place is super-easy to get to and you're in - you're out - you're gone with your meds.

To summarize: their products are nicely priced and of the same quality as other shops that I've visited, but the people make you feel at ease, put a smile on your face, and make you laugh-even when you come in feeling really sick and in pain. For this reason I give the folks at Hugs 5 stars. Go in and let one of the cool people there help you find some good medicine.

My friend and I visited for the first time and had the unhealthy and unpleasant inconvenience of having to wait in a small foyer where the receptionist clouded the air with her nasty tobacco cigarette smoke while verifying us. It's just wrong for medical patients to have to suffer this way to get to our medication. I don't know what these folks are thinking to allow such pollution by their employee.

Once inside, nice large single buds were displayed in jars and labeled with the different names. Once one makes a selection, one is handed a pre-weighed portion of much smaller, poorly crystalled buds. Don't stand for it! Insist on the good quality. Eventually they will bring you out better bud, but not unless you demonstrate that you will not fall for the bait and switch they seem to get away with on most the customers. Edibles are great here, huge selection. Pleasant vibes.

Why though, do all the clubs give out such rag shake "Welcome Newbie" joints? I have never been able to smoke one yet. The day I get a decent joint gifted to me for joining a club, that's the day I think about having some customer loyalty to one place.

This is the most mom and pop club out! Not only was it lacking sophistication, but the oil I bought sparked and popped! These guys have zero knowledge of Medical Marijauna and even less knowledge in business!

Hey Hugs, take a trip to Oakland to visit a real club! At least then you'll know what a dispensary is supposed to look like! I think you guys should reimburse me for the bad oil you sold me! Patients beware!

Skanky, reeked of cigarette smoke, seemed totally disorganized and the staff not very knowledgeable. The only reason it gets 2 stars is cause the nugs were pretty nice but the prices were too high and the good fortune. The samples were really dry and you couldn't smell anything but cigarettes. This place doesn't compare with any other club I've been to, so I see no need to return.

I've been going to hugs on and off for about a year now and the reason the medicine seems dry and not the best is because so many people come in, then they sell out fast they just need a good strain consistantly and they would be the best in sac. lones grow good, edibles strong, $5 pre rolled!!! And real important good folks w good intentions. My fav. thank you guys. Vote and help us get us out of this drug war.

Went to this club today. One way streets certainly did not help finding it but once you do its pretty easy to get to.

Place was very mom & pop feeling, especially after being to Harborside in Oakland (the walmart of clubs).

Selection of buds seemed small, maybe 4 or 5, all very dry looking :( I picked up an 8th of some dense, but have yet to test it.

Free joint for being first timer was surprisingly really good, but could tell it wasn't made with the best buds... still got me pretty high though.

Selection of edibles wasn't too bad, the usual's were there; cookies, brownies, krispies.. but a few standouts were ice cream, coffee cake (like a loaf of it), hash chocolates (guy said they were strong), and a few other candy items.

Hash was limited.. no names or anything, just hash (only like 2 baggies left when i was there).. unlike harborside which had like 20 different hashes

Had some interesting other things (hash honey oil, tincture).. tried the oil, was good stuff!!

Overall grade: I'll probably come back to this place sometime, if not just for the 30$ hash oil... though until then, I'm gonna shop around the other clubs.

I went to just about every other club in town first because I'm stupid, it's part of my sickness. This is the best of the bunch, as far as I'm concerned. They listened to my questions, answered with integrity, served my needs and my budget, were friendly and patient, and while I do like a couple in the downtown area (I'm not ready for long-term commitment), this place was close, affordable, and quantifiably high quality. Once they figured out that I wasn't there to spend $100, for example,they didn't shoo me out the door or begin to ignore me, like certain clubs out here...and for those of you reading this who don't live in CA...HA! What are you thinking?!?!

I love this place. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, with the emphasis being compassion. They have a variety of strands available in many forms (edibles,tinctures). They also offer military discounts. I live an hour away, with a club 10 miles down the road from me, I still drive the distance to HUGS because its worth it!! Have never been disappointed with the products or service. If you get the chance swing by, you won't be sorry !!!!

Of all the clubs I go to in Sacramento, I like Hugs the best. Very nice guys who care about their customers. They have a good selection with nothing over $50 an 1/8. Most times have a $40 strain. I haven't tried the candy food but my partner is very happy with the hash candy. It lets him sleep through the night.

Last stuff I got here was from a rather abrupt jerk, and it ended up dry as dirt. And I even asked directly "what's good today?". I was able to rehydrate it to half usable, though. I'll have to remember not to accept anything from that guy. . And I'll always insist on feeling the product at this place.

Set up over has a 'ghetto' feel to it, not very easy to find...if you miss a turn its hell getting back on track, lot of one way streets in this area.

They had alot of strains and everything was priced exactly the same...nothing separated itself from the others. The staff werent really knowledgable, the experience here was not comfortable. No armed guard was present. The place was a mess.

Now to the bud....honestly it looks like a fair attempt at homegrown, not worth the money they are charging though, plenty of 'strains', but they didnt look enticing at all.

They give away a free joint that Im smoking while I write this, the bud is ok, but it smells like homegrown. I wouldnt recommend this club to anyone, unless you need it and no other club is open, they are open 7 days a week.

I first visited this place in Dec., at the time I went they only had a few strains so I wanted to wait to go back again before I wrote a review. I'm glad I did go back. I have been very satisfied with my visits there.They have the best vets discount out of the 3 clubs I've been to and reviewed. Family run business, very respectful. My fave by far, this is a cool spot.

I use cannabis for a health condition. I throw up everything I try to eat, Nothing stay's down very long from 10 sec to 20 min's at some point I will vomit what I just tried to eat. So in order to keep some food down I smoke, and it settles my stomach, and makes it a lot easier to eat and survive. After coming to Hugs and telling them of my conditions, Hugs afforded me care, and helped with getting my medication through a compassion program. And with my health and the economy and help getting my medication for the week, Hugs and it staff are some of the best people I know, Thank's Hugs for everything. Thank you very much.

Having traveled to many different dispensaries up and down CA. Hugs is by far my favorite Northern California Dispensary. They are extremely Veteran friendly, and overall good ole' fashion folks. They show compassion, and care what you have to say. Their edibles are perfect for insomnia, and I use 1 edible for 2 nights sleep. Medicine quality has never been an issue. If you've never been, it is definitely worth the trip.

Great staff! I come down from Auburn whenever I can get an excuse to (45 min to an hour). Great munchies, good selection and I got a free joint. I also wanted to remind everybody whining about $50 for an 8th you need to just get over it and visit a few more clubs and think. Bottom line these guys do a great job and it's legal! So, this is the first club I have been in. Ever. The staff was nice, I felt comfortable and not weirded out at all. I bought an 1/8th of Blueberry/White Widow. It's really tasty, but a little dry. They were really low on baked goods, but I'm sure I'll return to see what else is there.

They have wack outdoor. It's all overpriced and dry. I mean dry! Also, they claim some strands are Kush and are more like Bammer. Save yourself the $50 for some indoor. They are making a killing getting this OD for cheap.

All of you guys are tripping if you go to another club! You pay $10 - $15 more for there jars or containers. Keep it real, ain't nothing wrong with some good old fashion bags. The medicine quality is at the top on anyone else but for way cheaper. And yeah I've been to all the quality clubs in Sac and the Bay. Good people too, can't beat that.

Great people there! A large selection of edibles too all are quite potent and tasty. The hash chocolates are awesome. I haven't had to wait at all and they have clones too. But mostly a really nice staff.

The office shares space with a burger joint called Stockton Burgers. Just park when you find the burger joint sign and walk around the building and you will find it. B was very helpful and knowledgeable about the products offered. I wish they had more Sativa choices. They had monstrous rice cakes and brownies. Newbie equals 1 very generous king sized J. I think they should sell books and stuff.

First time here and it was a pretty good experience. Haven't bought in a long time, but wanted to get myself some variety for a change. Location is convenient now that I know where it is. Missed it the first time since storefront faces south. Seemed like a good neighborhood right by the UCD Med Center. Smelled like cigs in the waiting room which was kind of a turnoff. Prices were average I guess, but I think they were a tad steep at $50/8th. Nobody should ever have to pay that much in my honest opinon. I did get a free joint for being a 1st time customer, so I guess it works out. Staff was extremely friendly and they were a pleasure to strike up conversation with. Had about 8 or so strains to choose from. I got the Bluberry x White Widow and the Star Gazer; we'll see how they are. The other strains looked good, but I've seen better. They had lots of different edibles available which looked really tasty, esp. the choc. ice cream. Didn't ask about the clones I saw since I was on my bike, but they looked ok, some looked more like unrooted cuts in rockwool.

Overall it was a good place and I think I will definitely be back, but first want to try out some of the other clubs in the area.

To me a friendly atmosphere is just as important as quality of meds. This place was very friendly and welcoming. I got lost twice trying to find it, and the guy on the phone was really patient with me and didn't get frustrated at all. Meds are very good quality, and they have a large selection. Highly recommend this club!

Literally a family run business, the staff is all friendly, personable and non-threatening. Medicine varies from excellent to just so-so, you get what you pay for. Their edibles I've tried are really incredible! And while I was going to knock a point off for selling clones rooted in soil rather than a neutral medium, they're thriving so I can't complain.

I have been to every club in Sacramento, Hugs Alternative is by far the best. The bud is phenomonal! And the edibles, absolutley delectible and effective. They make you feel at home, like family, they really care about their patients which is more than I can say for some clubs.

We have made two visits to this club in the past few days. On both visits the staff were very friendly and helpful. The medicine in stock was great for a fair price. Will make this a routine stop in the future. This is by far the best place we have found, thanks to all of the staff.

I can't say enough about Hugs. They are the best club I've ever been to. They have really good meds but they care too. They don't just make the money and not care about the people they are helping, because they go way beyond that. If you're having hard times they will help you out. I was low on funds and was going out town and didn't have my meds but they hooked me up with a little something just for my trip. They call it compassion, I call it people helping people. I couldn't believe they would be willing to help me out that way but they did. Thank you Hugs. You guys are awesome!

Went yesterday for the first time. I have my regular dispensary, but I lost my car and this is only a 15-20 minute walk to the 39th street lightrail station. First off...prices. Great prices. No 8th over $50 and let's be real, no matter how good the herb is that's the way its supposed to be! 215 is the compassionate act for a reason, right? The guy was very helpful and even seperated two strains into half 8ths for me because he wasn't busy. How cool is that? I got some sweet smelling/looking purple kush and some super silver haze. I haven't tried either yet because I didn't need to! They give free joints to first time customers and that lasted me all night! Staff is actually knowledgeable and they have THC oils and balms for joint pain. I'll be trying that next time!

I was loyal to another dispensary but these guys blew them out the water with compassion and selflessness.

I came down from the foothills to find a decent club and found HUGS. They are much more than that, they had a great attitude and good selection. The were very friendly and their prices are quite fair. They had exactly what I was looking for and a good supply of it. I plan on returning.

Felt like I was at home, a nice family run business. Today I picked up some Hindu Skunk a 1/4 oz it was a little over and really nice. They have a lot of tasty edible goodies, hash, keef and other fine buds, usually weigh a little over or bless us with little gifts. Anyways they seem really cool.

HAC is easy to find, a very positive enviroment, friendly, caring, and insightful staff. I loved the free tasty doobie, great selection of eatables. Very fresh and tasty pungent HS Skunk bud, almost reminds me of the humbolt back then. Very nice strain of train wreck had a very distinct minty earth tones, and extreamly covered with crystals. many strains to select from, Good prices for quality meds. Thank you guys :)
